Virginia Mukwesha is the daughter of Stella Chiweshe, the Queen of Mbira. She is a Mbira virtuoso and singer from Zimbabwe. She grew up in southern Africa in a family of musicians, midwives, herb women and spirit sound. Since the age of 12, she played music at ceremonies of the Shona/Mbire people. She deepened her knowledge at the Zimbabwe college of Music, and is a member of the “Zimbabwe Traditional Healers Association”.
She has performed with Oliver Mtukudzi, Otto Lechner, Siggi Finkel, Tsitsi Dangaremba, Shimmer Chinodya, Manu Dibango, Mahlatini & Mahotella Queens and more.
